The randomness! It burns!
Dec. 8th, 2010 05:50 pmIt pains me to say this, I think I need to break off my short-term relationship with the Robitussin with Vicodin. Slept a wee teensy bit late today. Teensy bit. Yeah. Ahem.
Onward, though, ever onward. I've been plowing through the CDs I purloined from the library a few weeks ago, and discovered that I'd snagged Here Lies Love, a song cycle about Imelda Marcos (!) written by David Byrne (!!!) in collaboration with Fatboy Slim (!!!!!), with vocals by such folks as Nellie McKay, Steve Earle, Florence Welch, Kate Pierson, and a duet by Cyndi Lauper and Tori Amos (my exclamation point key just told me to quit it). About as bizarre as you'd think.
Meanwhile, thanks to
bluegargantua for introducing me to Vihart and her Doodling in Math series of videos. Have you ever wanted to write someone and say, "Can I, like, lick your brain?"
And with that, I'm off to
wired_lizard's Shut Up and Write session, where I can stare at the screen until I sweat regret, only in the company of friends. Cheers!
