So yes, like the rest of the LiveJournal Northeast contingent, I am currently being buried under a large quantity of snow. I'm actually quite content with this—supplies have been laid in, movies and cocoa are at the ready—but I've found myself feeling a bit down on and off today. At least I know why: after a hypersocial week and a Christmas that turned out better than any I've had in more years than I like to think about, being stuck inside is going to lead to letdown. On the other hand, I've had the pleasure of some truly nifty interactions with some truly nifty people today over that Interwebby thingamabob they keep talking about on the TV, so all is well.

I know this is a maddeningly vague post, but sleep is rapidly overtaking the cognitive bits of my head, so giving a more detailed account or the Christmas recap that desperately needs to happen is not in the cards right now. But you all are dear to me whether I'm awake enough to say so or not, so please take a moment to answer: how are you doing?

I can has new monitor! My previous (salvaged) monitor was dying, so on my way home I took advantage of a sale and bought my first flat-screen monitor. 20 inches, which is actually a big improvement over the old monitor. I've been happily using it tonight. Yay! It works!

And Christmas went nicely, in a low-key way. Not too many people, and I didn't have to go anywhere once I was at Mom and Dad's. I read, watched football, visited with family, and relaxed. It was a good weekend and I got some nice gifts. The monitor's my gift to myself!

Good to hear you and good to know you're okay.

Not too badly:) Went to a wonderful party on Friday, wound up staying til Saturday morning (it goes on through tonight--er--Sunday night), then I had to leave to pet sit. Was going to go to a different party after that, but I did not want to lose my parking spot in the impending snow emergency. Turns out that this was not the issue I thought it was. Oh well. Got a ride to the original party, then after a nap there (I really need to stop falling asleep at other people's parties) and hanging out with the feline there, I hitched a ride home. Today was walking to the gym, swimming for awhile, then finally folding and driving to care for the cat, who is a dear. Though I did manage to find my way home and a lovely parking spot, I am glad I got home when I did since it was rather tricky parking in said spot (though a very nice person stopped to help me do so). Not sure exactly how I am going to get to the pet sitting gig tomorrow, but if all else fails, I can gear myself up for a very long walk. Luckily, the gym where I get my swim fix is walking distance.

Glad your holiday was sweet:)

Not doing too shabby.
We had a white solstice- nothing compared to the avalanche you're probably seeing right now. Or the mudslides and rain in california. Or the freezes in Florida. Makes me feel safe here in the landlocked midwest where slipping and falling on ice or getting stabbed by a falling icicle are dangers.

Cold, and a bit weary, as we have just cleared about 28 inches of snow off 4 cars. Dominus has been at it for two and a half hours, thus proving that he really IS a superhero.

Doing well, on the whole. Have been on the road visiting loved ones for 17 days; am currently visiting my Canada sweetie who has cancer. The time with him has been good, including unexpected loveliness in the intimacies department :) I head home tomorrow, and am looking forward to that as well. Really enjoyed getting to Skype into home to see the family open gifts on Christmas morning :)

I'm.... managing. Not really back to mirth and light, but not utterly sunk into sadness and entropy, either.
