So goeth the week
Apr. 28th, 2011 09:41 pmKristi has been attending an out-of-town library conference this week, which has meant taking up Kid Patrol duties for me: get up at holy-crow-it's-5:30-in-the-morning to drive out to Worcester, shuffle the kids onto their respective buses, take a few hours to get stuff done (e.g. napping), hustle back to Worcester for after-school pickup and dinner and homework-tasering and such, then head back to Watertown once Kristi makes it back home, leaving me an hour or so before hitting the hay in time for a theoretical decent night's sleep before attempting the holy-crow-it's-5:30 bit again. (Alternate path: couch-crashing in Worcester overnight, which I did last night. That worked, too.) It's actually been quite fun, albeit with the occasional living room Wrestlemania reenactments that come with having two kids. There's been much group cooking and perhaps too many shared YouTube videos and definitely too much of Abbey's J-pop, and Nik had his dance class today, complete with a "B-but I don't want to!" meltdown that evaporated once he was in the ballet room with three girls that paid rather blatant attention to him.
Meanwhile, I seem to have developed a thing for Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, after snagging Dig, Lazarus, Dig! from the library last week, and already knowing I'll be burning my own soon-to-be-worn-out copy for future road trips. (For those concerned by this information: yes, I'm doing fine.)
