FINALLY! The results (and answers) to the 2011 Movie Stills Quiz!

The results are in! Due to life going all splodey-like (as it does), the final tally of the 2011 Movie Stills Quiz have been repeatedly delayed, but hopefully it's a case of better late than never.

I knew going in that this was a hard quiz, but I don't think I anticipated just how hard—nearly a quarter of the 60 stills received no correct responses at all. In spite of this, a total of 17 people took the plunge, and to those of you who did, I offer my thanks for taking the time and my congratulations for doing such an impressive job! There were a few people who only entered one or two of the four separate polls, and I have my fears that they may have lost some of their answers in the wash, so to speak, but among all those who participated, here are the top five: (Note that figmentj tied for first in points, but because a sizable portion of the DVDs I used were hers and I've spent the last several months forcing her to watch many of the others, we agreed that she should probably be disqualified.)

What. The. Fuck? Wow! I don't actually watch all that many films, so half of my answers were just guesses, mostly based on knowing the shit you obsess about... *gheghegheghe*

Anyway, thanks for the cool quiz -- I think I'm going to have to add a few interesting-looking movies to my queue.

There were a few people who only entered one or two of the four separate polls

I was one of those. No worries: I just didn't recognize any movies at all from the sections I didn't submit.

I'm now very curious as to which ones I actually got right, and which ones I merely think I would have gotten right (thanks to hindsight bias) now that I see the titles. (Hindsight bias is such a strong effect that that even being aware of it and trying to account for it doesn't stop it from happening.)

I'm awfully pleased to have done so well. I also feel you should be rewarded for your restraint in not publicly pointing out that all of the stills that only had one guess had one guess because I entered Eating Raoul for everything I couldn't come up with even a possibility for.

I regret not doing better but the whole thing for me occured during the latest lj fubar so everything was screed up, and then my browser was acting up. :P
That and I could not remember scenes from films I should have recognized.
