A good day. A quite good day, indeed. How so, you ask? Allow me to elucidate:

* It was the first day of a four-day weekend.
* Better yet, I had much of it all to myself.
* Abbey woke up, picked out an outfit, and put it on without any prompting. Amazingly, the outfit matched.
* Kristi is spending the entire weekend over at this house. Matter of fact, she's snoozing on the couch at this very moment. She's such a cute sleeper.
* She promised to make her drop-dead-gorgeous Macaroni Quattro Formaggio con Prosciutto tomorrow night, if I bought the ingredients. So I did. There's something very satisfying about buying Gruyere and Gorgonzola in the same shopping trip.
* I successfully assembled a set of bookshelves all by my lonesome. I probably should've had a beer afterwards, but I can't stand the stuff.
* I got the Hindenberg-load of books moved out of the now-playroom, now that I have a place to put them. (I don't have to worry about my mom-in-law pawing the smut and the Wicca sourcebooks any more! Yay!)
* Lunch consisted of the following: maple ham and old-style roast beef on Dutch potato bread with roasted garlic and onion jam, a handful of spiced sweet potato chips, and four asparagus pickles, with a Pepsi to wash it down. I'm reminiscing already.
* Kristi surprised us by picking up pizza and wings on the way over.
* My copy of Raymond Smullyan's To Mock a Mockingbird arrived in the mail.
* The Union announced that they've signed a tentative agreement with the company on a five year contract. I get to keep not only my job, but my medical benefits. And, oh yeah, we get a profit sharing check very soon. Drinks are on me!

If you'll excuse me, I'm going to go make this day perfect by sleeping like a hundred-weight of roofing tiles. G'night, all.
