* Facebook can go scratch. Seriously.

* Kettle Cheddar Beer Chips are both tasty and insufficient.

* I am lounging about in my jellyfish umbrella shirt and my executive boxers. The latter is tangible evidence that it's laundry day.

* The new blanket has Sudafed-levels of sleep-inducing power. It also apparently instills me with occasional gory serial killer dreams, so I'm approaching with caution.

* My one lingering thought regarding the Oscars: if Roger Deakins and Thomas Newman don't frickin' win something soon, I'm a-gonna start sugaring Academy members' gas tanks. That is all.

The problem with Roger Deakins is that this is a time of phenomenal cinematographers. I'm not going to hope he wins just cause he hasn't won. GRAVITY fully deserved the win this year. PRISONERS was great, but it just didn't have the same pull. I do hope he wins soon, though I'm thrilled that his competition is so fierce.

True, I wouldn't have taken it from Lubezki this year. But last year with Skyfall, on the other hand, Deakins was robbed screaming-blind.

I'm glad! It feels like there's a migration back to LJ, perhaps not a huge one, but a real one nonetheless. Here's hoping it sticks.

1. Often. Yes.

2. Those sound rather delicious and *so* off limits to me...

3. :)

4. What new blanket? From where/what does it derive said powers?

5. I have seen entirely too few movies.

1) Yeah, the noise-to-signal ratio is getting steadily louder.

2) They're very, um, manly. At least I got them at Whole Foods.

3) Pretty much how my evenings go, except more executive.

4) It's a mock down comforter that actually fits our bed (we've been struggling with full blankets on a queen mattress all winter). It's one of those things where you slip under the covers and go, "...ooooooooh...."

5) Thomas Newman's a composer who tends toward interesting and quirky (American Beauty, Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events). Roger Deakins is a cinematographer with an amazing eye for composition (Skyfall, a lot of the Coen brothers' stuff like Fargo and The Man Who Wasn't There). They're both brilliant, they've both been nominated scads of times, and neither has ever won. I fail to see the justice.
