A quick shout into the LJ air in search of a couple of folks to fill proverbial shoes of various sizes:

1) Anyone in Boston and surrounding environs looking for part-time work? [livejournal.com profile] rain_herself is about to leave her position with Mass Housing to start her new doctoral program, and the candidates to replace her have been rather underwhelming. To quote her on the topic, "It's 15/hour, they need pretty strong Excel & Word, event coordinating, good at anticipating needs, organized. Experience with kids and/or school would be good, too. They'll have to be willing to go through an agency as well, probably." Any takers, please drop a line with either me or [livejournal.com profile] rain_herself.

2) [livejournal.com profile] cluegirl and I are nearly done with the recording portion of Pretty in Scarlet, the first Murder Ballads CD. (More on that in an upcoming post.) After that we'll be mixing, and after that we'll need to find someone who can master it for us. We're looking for someone who is inexpensive, as we're still a small operation at this point; we can work long distance if need be through the magic of DropBox and Skype, but bonus points for folks living somewhere along the Massachusetts-to-upstate-New-York ley line. Again, if you know somebody, or indeed are somebody, please drop a line with either me or [livejournal.com profile] cluegirl.

Thanks muchly!

I'd like to find out more about the job, as I've been looking for work for way too long.

It's basically an admin assistant thing, working for the diversity officer, so most of the work has something to do with diversity. One major aspect is working with the mentor program for grades 3-5 at a local school, doing administration of mentor events, scheduling, field trips, etc. One is running diversity events for the company, so catering, arranging speakers, performers, etc. And you're assisting with payroll and supplies and standard officey things for a very nice and somewhat scattered lady, which is where the organization part comes in. She's very easy to work for if you're on the ball and can tolerate her general forgetfulness. She's very flexible and understanding of work/life balance issues, and is always shoving me out the door early (with pay). Any specific questions?

It doesn't fit with my current part-time gig (I kind of suspected it wouldn't), but thanks anyway, guys!

PM'd clue via LJ, but don't know how often she reads it. Letting you know so that you can let her know, if need be.
