Today in the car, listening to Richard Thompson's Mock Tudor:

Abbey: Y'know, Dad, I'm a fan.
Me: Hm?
Abbey: I'm a fan of this guy singing.
Me: You mean Richard Thompson?
Abbey: Yeah. I'm a fan of Richard Thompson.
Me: Well, cool! I'm a Richard Thomspon Fan, too.
Abbey: We should send him a note.
Me: Y'know, Abbey, that's not a bad idea.
Abbey: And some flowers.
Me: Umm, I don't know about flowers...
Abbey: Why, is he allergic?

I must be doing something right.

(For the record, she really is a fan. She regularly requests "Business on You" and "She Twists the Knife Again" in the car, and takes great delight in singing the backup part to "Crawl Back (Under My Stone)." That's my girl!)

Oh, yes. Corrupting young people on good music: one of the best parts of parenting.

Oh, trust me: there are days when I'm tempted to offer you mine. But yeah, they're cooler than I ever was.

You know, my brother's name is Richard Thompson, but I don't think he sings. Maybe it's some secret second life he's never told me about?

Well, that depends. Is he a British folk-rock guitarist in his 60's? *grin*

Good to have you aboard, by the way, and thank for friending me! What brings you to this neck of the woods?
