Whatever's on my mind:

1) Yes, my LJ addiction has officially taken root: when creating crossword puzzles, I now routinely have to remind myself that the user names of people on my friends list are not in and of themselves acceptible grid-fill. (B-but [livejournal.com profile] enegim would've been perfect...)

2) Maybe if I just pretend that my nose isn't starting to run, then it'll stop.

3) Confidential to a certain caller at work: Ma'am, I understand you wanting to yell at me for "messing up your phone," but I can assure you that I did not break into your home and poison your chicken wings when you weren't looking.

4) Hm, before I type this, I should go in the basement and check... hold on a sec... *splish* *splosh* *splash* Yep. The sump pump still blows.

5) T-minus 22 hours, 35 minutes until [livejournal.com profile] rafaela's plane lands. And yes, I am so counting.

1) Chiara is Italian for clear. Chiaroscuro is also a good crossword puzzle word, I would think. Just a thought.

2) Try antihistamines. They might work better than the denial theory of treating illness.

3) ...poison her chicken wings? The hell? Customers are strange people.

4) I feel stupid for asking this, but what do sump pumps do?

5) Eeeeeeee! *sends happy thoughts for a wonderful visit, and hugs to Ms. [livejournal.com profile] rafaela as well*

Peace be with you, Adam. :)

4) They pump sumps. Duh! Stupid sumps.

No seriously, I remember basements from when I used to live in NY. They have a tendency to fill up with water when it rains, or when the snow melts. So generally they have a sump pump in the basement to keep the water level down, so the kids don't float away or sumpthin'. Eeeeee hee heee!

*laugh* Yep, that's upstate New York, all right. Except that our sump pump fails regularly in both the sumping and pumping departments, which leaves us with a small estuary flowing through our boiler room. Good thin we got Santa's presents the heck out of there...

Oh, so that's what "Chiara" means! Glad I asked. Oh, and yes, customers are very strange creatures, indeed. I think they're importing them from some subterranean settlement the government doesn't want us to know about.

Have a wonderful time with Rafaela! And do post some of your Xword puzzles for us to puzzle over, sometime...

Thank you! Unfortunately, Games gets all the good stuff, but I'll see what I can do. *wink*
