This past weekend, three things at a time
May. 16th, 2005 10:02 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
Three things about seeing Hitchhiker's Guide with
rafaela and the kids:
1) I cannot believe that we hadn't made it down to Spectrum Theatre in Albany before. I mean, they actually show documentaries and stuff with subtitles there. Caveat: We must get directions to I-787 in advance, unless we really want to see some interesting neighborhoods again.
2) I take back everything bad I said about the casting before. Mea culpa.
3) Young kids don't care a lick about confusing scripts and Hollywoodized endings, as long as there are talking sofas and alien fly swatters that whap people in the nose.
Three things about contradancing:
1) It'd been entirely too long for me. Contradancing still the best way on the planet to meet people, even if I was sweating like it was monsoon season on my head.
2) I want a bouzouki. And a shawm. And a bodhran. And that fiddler.
3) I don't care if she's a lesbian. She's still cute, and she makes good eye contact. (No, not the fiddler.)
Three things about hanging out with
zarhooie:
1) She's an awesome cook.
2) And gives awesome hugs.
3) *happysigh*
Three things about the Sunday night informal SCA gathering:
1) I wish I hadn't shown up on Tablet Weaving Instruction Night. I don't need any more project obsessions in my life, thank you.
2) I wish I could sew, like
rafaela can.
3) Forsooth.
Three things about my feet:
1) They still hurt. Contradancing barefoot is magnificent and a reason to go on living, but ye gods, does it do a number on your arches.
2) My toenails are purple and sparkly, thanks to
zarhooie's tender ministrations. Thank you!
3) 12 hours on the gas pedal in three days makes my ankles sore. So worth it, though.

Date: 2005-05-16 07:24 pm (UTC)Go south on I-87, take 7 east, and take the I-787 exit.
Where WERE you going anyhow? And when are you bringing the little
snotdarlings to the museum? :)(no subject)

Date: 2005-05-16 08:09 pm (UTC)Go north on Delaware, turn right on Madison. Go a few blocks. Take a left onto S. Swan (it's just before the museum/plaza), go under the Empire State Plaza, and it'll spit you out onto a bit of road that'll take you to 787, with clear signs. Keep left to go north. :)

Date: 2005-05-17 08:24 am (UTC)Or, if traffic is bad, go south on Deleware for about a mile and turn left onto McAlpin St. (just before a bridge crossing the highway) (not that I have even noticed the sign before). About 3/4 mile down that street you will see entrances to 787 north, and to 87 (thruway).
Jessica's way is definately more direct if you want 787 north, as you are going north in the first place. You'll travel about a mile north on Deleware, and the after turning onto Madison you'll travel about a quarter mile before turning (The traffic light has a green arrow) onto S. Swan. Take the low left path path while on S. Swan, and then turn right to go under the Plaza (there is a road that branches to you left just befoe the plaza that you don't want to take [which I once ran out of gas on and caused some traffic problemsa as it's a narrow street, and is uphill])
You were in Albany and didn't visit! You were in Albany going to see "Hitcvhhiker's" and didn't invite! "You bastard!"
:P

Date: 2005-05-17 03:22 pm (UTC)In my defense, I refer you back to the post, and the fact that we were seeing it in the company of my two young children. We value your continued friendship, see, and do not wish to jeopardize the same.

Also: I am in awe at the number of typos in my previous reply.

I've tuned my lesbian gaydar by means of the following diagnostic question: Do I think she's hot in the same way I thought Karen Larson was?

Date: 2005-05-17 05:02 pm (UTC)... was what??? Really???
OK, I really need to retune my gaydar.
Edward Miner was interested in her, but finally told me she wasn't worth going after. Bastard didn't tell me why, though. Mysteries are finally cleared up.
Sheesh. She was really, really cute.

Date: 2005-05-17 03:23 pm (UTC)three things about this post
Date: 2005-05-17 01:20 pm (UTC)2. Is the fiddler at least Bi? Mmmmm....fiddlers....mmmm. Something about girls with stringed instruments
3. Poor baby, sounds like you are in dire need of a foot rub! Too bad you guys live so far away or I'd volunteer.
Re: three things about this post
Date: 2005-05-17 03:26 pm (UTC)2. Actually, don't know a thing about the fiddler. This was more about one of the dancers: bandana, orange overalls, barefoot, dimples from here to Oxnard, a disconcerting habit of stepping in verrrry closely on the swings, and, if I am understanding correctly, not even remotely interested in anyone with my plumbing. *sigh* Story of my life...
3. Foot rubs goooooood. *purr* Rain check?
Re: three things about this post
Date: 2005-05-18 07:14 am (UTC)2. It doesn't matter in my head the fiddler is Bi, of course in my head a lot of girls are Bi. ; ) Sorry about the other girl, sweetie. You could fix the plumbing problem, but I for one wish you wouldn't. *squish*
3. Absolutely, next time I see you. Foot rubs happen to be one of my many hidden talents, and I'm pretty generous with them. : )
